The Akshardham temple, is spread over 32 acres (13 hectares) and it is 356 feet long, 316 feet wide and 141 feet high. It was consecrated on November 6, 2005.

The Akshardham temple was built over a period of 5 years and about 11,000 artisans and voluntary workers were involved in its construction.

The temple is made of marble, wood and sanstone, but amazingly no steel has been used. It is built in Vedic design in such a way that it will last for 1000 years.

The temple is visited by nearly 1 lakh people every day.
